Installation
The Cat C7.1 engine also features one of Caterpillar’s most advanced modular engine designs to date, and is equipped with an on-engine aftertreatment system. This allows it to be installed in a wide range of machines, particularly in industrial and construction applications, saving OEMs valuable installation time and space. Downsizing from the 9-liter platform reduces length by 20%, height by 5%, and weight by 40%, delivering significant benefits to OEMs.
Cost Savings
Downsizing offers multiple benefits. Based on the 6-cylinder engine platform, downsizing can reduce total fuel consumption by 18%. Coupled with a 3–4% reduction in total DEF consumption and integrated EGR, significant cost savings can be achieved quickly.
Reliable Operation
The Cat C7.1 engine utilizes passive regeneration technology, enabling operators to continuously perform demanding tasks even in extremely harsh environments without being hindered by the engine. Validated through thousands of hours of field testing, it meets Caterpillar’s stringent safety standards and can handle the diverse, severe operating conditions encountered by customers worldwide.
